Hello everyone!
So today's thoughts are all about travel. When I set off to see my boyfriend for a a few days, most usually for a weekend, I am definitely one of those girls who loves to pack. I love being organised and planning my outfits, makeup and skincare luggage- I know, terribly OCD but I love searching my stash and putting together a pack of beauty which will see me through that weekend. But anywhoo, I thought as I have often been told by my other half that I bring far too much makeup for a couple of days, I would show you my essentials which I have perfected into a nutshell and this is my summer edition.
(From Left to Right) Hangbag from Charity Shop, Large matching weekend bag Charity Shop, matching wallet Charity Shop all included £3.99, Ipod Nano, Primark Toiletries bag £4.
So, here's an overview of what I would usually pack up in my travel handbag for the weekend. Obviously it's important to keep it light as a heavy bag really is a no-go when you're on the train which is unfortunetly my mode of transport for the weekend get away. Therefore, I really only take the essentials! I will obviously take you through what I pack and hopefully this will help those of you who like me, didn't know what to take and what to chuck back in the stash. Lets have a nosey at some of the bits...
Body Spray, Ted Baker (part of a gift set)
(Top to Bottom) Paracetamol Tablets, Mints as a Freebie from Nottingham University Open day, Travel mirror as part of Olay gift set.
Collection Pressed powder shade 1 £1.99
Wilkinson Fruity Citrus Instant Hand Sanitiser 50p
I never travel anywhere without paracetamol tablets, freshening mints or a mirror! Always handy to have. Open days at universities usually give away lots of goodies such as free pens.. okay, not so exciting but things like fresh mints can come in handy for travelling so keep an eye out!
Pressed powder is a must for me. I feel so much better having it in my bag as I can throw some on with a brush and I'm good to go when my train pulls into the station.
I want to make sure my hands are as clean as possible when travelling as you don't know what you've been touching (ahh!) so best to grab yourself a mini sized bottle of the good stuff- anti-bacterial hand sanitiser. This one smells great and very orangey and for only 50p you can't really go wrong for when you're no where near a sink and soap!
Finally, I don't know about you but my lips always seem to need an added bit of moisture especially when travelling and this lipbalm smells incredible and is currently on offer at superdrug so go grab yourself a bargain. It is very small and handy to have in your bag and the product really does seems to last and last. I have had mine for months now and it's holding up very well... and it smells like chocolate mmmmmmmm....
Now the boring bits: Always take a bottle of water wherever you go! make sure to write down your train times and changes on a piece of paper and keep it safe just so you're organised.
Don't forget to look out for the next post of this travel series as there will be more to come...
Talk to you later! Just gone to soak up the sun before it disappears!
